Popular Instagram Comedian and skit maker Debo Adedayo popularly known as Mr Macaroni has shared the death threats he received from a Twitter user.
The 28-year-old comic actor has been outspoken about his dissatisfaction with the scheduled reopening of the Lekki Toll Gate scheduled for Friday.
Mr Macaroni, a resident of the Lekki area of Lagos tweeted on Wednesday that, “We are live at the LCC and StakeHolders Meeting. The Lekki Estate Residents and Stakeholders Association Chairman has announced the decision of all Residents which is NO TO TOLLING!!!!!”
In another tweet update on the meeting, he wrote, “All of us present here have spoken! And not one resident is in support of tolling. The timing is wrong, The people are going through a lot of hardship at the moment! We hope the Lagos state government will do the right thing here and suspend the resumption of Tolling. Nooooo!!!”
Twitter User Threatens Mr Macaroni
In the comment section, some tweeps were in support of his stance, others were against it while some rained insults and threats on the actor.
Mr Macaroni then shared a screenshot of one of the threats he received, saying it is one of the threats he gets regularly while acknowledging his love for the Nigerian Police and the Lagos State Government.
The tweep named Prince Tiamiyu Lawal Kano with the handle @lawalt2010 wrote, “This Macaroni of guy will most likely end his life untimely because of foolishness… Very senseless, unpatriotic bastard… What’s his business with the Lekki toll gate… I pray I get hold of him tomorrow at the Lekki Toll Gate I will kill him on sight…”
After much public outcry of the threat, Tiamiyu on Friday deleted his post and tendered an apology to the comedian.
He wrote, “I am writing this tweet in response to a viral tweet about Mr Macaroni…I sincerely apologize and retract every content of the tweet…We were having an argument before I lost it completely and went beyond limits…I have never killed anyone & I will never do…I am very sorry!!”
