Big Brother Naija 2019 love birds Mercy and Ike still flowing in their ocean of love. Despite hovering rumors of them going separate ways in pursuit of their careers, the lovebirds came out to disprove the rumors. Mercy who in recent time has had many endorsements and lots of positive prospects going on in her career still insists that she still feels something strong for Ike.
In a recent interview with the Ex-Big Brother Housemates, they were asked the following question and their response are as follows:
What’s the biggest lesson learnt in Big Brother House?
Ike: I learned about valuing other people, valuing different personality, and love. I came into the house with the mindset that I know it all. But I discovered that I still have a lot to learn.
Ike was also asked about his Gangster like attitude which he entered the house with, but ended up slowing down. If Mercy tamed that part of him, since he doesn’t want to displease her.
Ike: If the truth is 100%, that statement is 40%. I realize that I was given strikes and concept of the show from the unset wasn’t what I thought. The concept of to showcase and sell yourself, act a fool and entertain. I started changing when I came into the house having realized what the show was about. The strikes help me change and yes, Mercy helped me change too.
Mercy on the other end, when asked if she went into the house with the hope to meet her man?
Mercy: Never! During my audition, I made it clear that I’m single but not searching. I said to myself I can do it alone, like I want to play this game alone. I’m a big fan of bigbrother. I used to watch the show back to back, I have a particular housemate then I want to be like. During the time I was single, I just want to play it alone and have fun. But, when I meet Ike, a whole lot of things changed. We started off as best friends, then the house. We were called boyfriend and girlfriend in the house, when Ike has not asked me out, they are already instigating. you know when you wake up every morning, you see and gist with this particular person, there are possibilities of falling in love.
Mercy, on the things she took away from the house:
Mercy: Ever since I left the house, I have learnt to be more patient and to respect peoples space. Before the house, I’m used to hanging out with my friends. Being in a circle of 25 people and sharing the same bathroom, doing everything together, and having someone by my right or left whenever I wake up was entirely new to me. I learnt to accommodate people. It was really educative for me, during my stay in the house. There was no pen, no paper, and so, in everything you have to do which you don’t have upstairs, then you are not going to perform. During our tasks, the house really shaped me in a positive way. I used to flip at every little thing before, the strike too like Ike said, mellowed us down. those are the things that I took away from the house.
On the question about “who approached each other first?
Ike: I think I approached Mercy first. I have met Mercy before the house, on actor model business level. But when I came into the house, I looked at her as an ally. The house is about nomination and I looked at her as a strong ally.
Mercy interrupted, “You were using me?
Ike continued, “No, in the beginning, we were just friends, I thought we could do a teamwork. One time in the house, I said what’s up? I am a fine boy and you are a fine girl, she told me everything that’s not what I came here for, Ike leave me, I really didn’t pin my heart to it, you know. But after seeing everybody’s character in the house, you notice these persons are either too fake or too annoying. But Mercy seems like someone I can connect with, I saw the potential in her and I saw similarities in myself, so I had to chase her and that was it.
When asked if she has spoken with any of Ike’s family?
Mercy: I have spoken to his mom, uncle, aunty, cousins, almost everybody.
When asked if Ike has met or spoken with any member of her family?
Mercy: Yes, oo, he has spoken to many, he even met with uncle Uzo.
Ike: Me and her mom, we had a small talk.
When asked if eventually the both get married, how many kids they would want to have.
Mercy: Two
Ike: I was thinking of like six
Mercy: I know you want to park this my engine. Both laugh.
Mercy recently appeared for a welcome party at the Desert Rose Yach Pier 7 Marina in Dubai for the “ONE AFRICA MUSIC FEST”. And Ike is expected to be present at the ‘AFRICANS UNITE Concert 2019” which will be going down on 23rd November at the HILLCREST Quarry Durbanville Cape Town, Sun Arena, South Africa. Both housemates are actually keeping up with the heat of the “celebrity thing” going on, and I wish the tie the knock soon enough.
