A man arrested for reportedly raping 3-year-old in Yobe state.
This 25-year-old man known as Musa Audu was arraigned by the police in the Jakusko Local government of the state
The Police Public Relations Officer,(ASP)Dungus Abdulkarim Dungus confirmed this incident earlier today
According to Dungus, the suspect reportedly carried the little girl away from the public and raped the minor.
The little girl has been identified as Umma Mohammed and this incident happened in the Jakubari village in Jakusko LGA
ASP Dungus also reported that media examination on Umma revealed that she was slightly penetrated.
He also said,
“The suspected rapist who was arrested on the 7th of November, 2020 has confessed to the act.
“Preliminary investigation has since commenced for subsequent transfer to State CID Damaturu for discreet investigation”
According to the state’s law,
“…whoever commits rape, where the victim is a minor, shall be punished with imprisonment for life and where the victim is an adult, shall be jailed for a term of 25 years”
Spinning off this law, Musa Audu who was arrested for reportedly raping 3-year-old in Yobe will be sent to jail for life if guilty.
