Adamawa Vice-Chairman
A local government vice-chairman has been kidnapped by unknown men in Adamawa State in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The government official, Hon Lazarus Kama Bakta is the vice chairman of Shelleng Local Government Area of Adamawa State. According to reports, he was kidnapped at abvout 2 am on Tuesday 16th June 2020.
An official in Shelleng Local Government Area confirmed this known to newsmen. Reports say that the vice chairman was whisked away from his house by unknown gunmen who came in their numbers and entered the residence of the politician after they had caused terror in the community by repeatededly firing their guns into the air.
The sequence of events left everybody in the area frightened and powerless to challenge the kidnappers as they looked ready to take the life of any intending savior. This has left the community in a state of grief and insecurity as the vice chairman of the commuity is supposed to feel safe to an extent.
A spokesman of the Police in Adamawa State, DSP Suleiman Nguroje while confirming this said that the police forcce had begun a manhunt with the aid of local hunters in the state in order to free the victim and track the kidnappers, bringing them to justice.
This is going with the recent trend of Kidnappings in the country, with a strong sense of insecurity being felt in the country abd most especially in the northern states.
