The Lekki Concession Company (LCC) has announced a suspension of toll collection at the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge earlier scheduled for Sunday, April 17, 2022.
The company earlier announced the resumption of tolling on the axis since it was closed down in 2020 during the #EndSARS protest a decision that was not well received by the residents of the Lekki area.
The LCC in new development through its Managing Director Yomi Omomuwasan on Friday night, revealed that a new date for toll collection would be announced soon.
The statement partly read, “As a responsible organisation, we must take full cognisance of everyone within the axis. Therefore, we want to continue with the ongoing engagements with our stakeholders.
“The preparatory operations to resume tolling on the Bridge have been smooth so far, and we are grateful to all the key stakeholders for their cooperation.
“The planned commencement of toll collection has now been postponed, allowing more of our customers to register for the electronic toll devices to enable seamless passages at the toll plaza.”
