The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the brutality of the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Friday visited the Lekki Toll Gate.
The judicial panel sat for the first time on Tuesday, 27 October.
The panel was at the Lekki Tollgate to inspect and make more findings concerning the shootings which occurred on October 20, 2020.
During the visit, the panel, led by its Chairman, Justice Doris Okuwobi, interrogated Lekki Tollgate officials about the condition of their cameras and other equipment.
The Managing Director of Lekki Concession Company (LCC), Mr Yomi Omomuwansa, took members of the panel round the facilities.
Omomuwansa told the judicial panel that most of their equipment was damaged as they were set ablaze by hoodlums following the shooting of EndSARS protesters at the toll gate.
Also with the panel during the inspection of Lekki Tollgate were Rinu Odulala and Temitope Majekodunmi, the youth representatives on the judicial panel.
Other members of the panel include Mr. Ebun Adegboruwa, SAN (representing the Civil Society); Taiwo Lakanu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ms Patience Udoh, representing the Civil Society; Mr. Segun Awosanya, Human Rights Activist, Mrs. Olutoyin, Odusanya, Director, Citizens Mediation Center.
