The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday joined the #ENDSARS protesters in Alausa where he also received a letter of their demands and reiterated his support for them.
In a tweet, the governor said he was on his way to Abuja to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the issue of police brutality with him.
Sanwo-Olu added that his administration would immediately set up a trust fund to compensate the families of police brutality in Lagos state adding that though no amount of money can reduce their pain.
He said the trust fund will be supervised by a team appointed transparently by members of the public.
Also, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has reiterated the call for compensation for victims of Police brutality.
Gbajabiamila made this known when he received a delegation led by popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido who came on a courtesy visit to convey to the Parliament the deep grief of the Nigerian people.
