The Kogi state government has disclosed that the state has carried out a total of 111 tests on suspected coronavirus patients in the state, with all the results returning negative.
This information was disclosed in a statement by the state’s commissioner for information and communication strategy, Mr Kingsley Fanwo on Tuesday in the state’s capital Lokoja.“111 COVID-19 rapid tests were conducted in Kogi state on Monday, and all results came out negative.”
The commissioner also pointed out that the tests were done without the notice of any Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) official, but also noting that the kits were in line with the guidelines issued by NCDC.
The state remains COVID-19 free despite many saying there is a lack of testing as the Kogi state government insist on only carrying test based on the necessary information of suspected cases in hospitals in the state.
