Kemi Olunloyo Exposes Extortion Plan
Kemi Olunloyo, the controversial Nigerian journalist has exposed alleged extortion plan behind the new registration that some Nigerians might need to do for their mobile SIM cards.
It would be recalled that the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, recently gave the telecommunication operators in the country two weeks to block all SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers, NIN.
The commission went ahead to stress that any operator that fails to comply will either have its license withdrawn or pay heavy sanctions.
Howevere, Kemi Olunloyo has taken to Twitter to state that the new directive is geared towards enriching some set of Nigerians.
She wondered why Nigerians would need to spend N20 to check if their SIM cards have been registered inline with the new requirement.
“I bet the feds have given all their inner circle friends contracts to register your SIM to NIMC. How can we pay N20 to check via USSD? It’s FRAUD. You want to make #BBNaija cash abi? I’m not even registering. If they born you well come and disconnect my phone line”
Nigerians have also been wondering how they would be able to go for the registration in case they would need to, amidst the second wave of coronavirus spread in the country.
