Kano Hisbah Board has on Sunday destroyed about 1,975 bottles of beer estimated at N200 million.
Commander General of the Board, Sheikh Harun Muhammad explained that the board got a court order to destroy the over 20 trucks of alcohol.
Meanwhile, Hisbah operatives are to receive salary increment and a new uniform for the exercise while the beer sellers were counting their losses.
The state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje said the consumption of alcohol can distort the mental capability of a person is forbidden in Islam.
Also, Ganduje noted that the consumption of beer has been banned in all parts of the State.
The governor expressed satisfaction over how the Hisbah officials are discharging their duties.
Meanwhile, Ganduje urged all stakeholders to support the security outfit.
According to the Deputy Governor, Hassan Musa Fagge, the Hisbah Board was established to prevent evil social acts in the state.
