John Mahama is currently in the lead in Ghana’s Presidential polls.
Results released by the Ghana Electoral Commission show that former President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in the lead.
The commission has so far released the results of seven provincial elections, with John Mahama receiving the most votes.
As of Wednesday morning, the results of the seven provincial elections have been announced as follows:
- Upper West: NPP: 121,230 – NDC: 238,972
- North East: NPP: 122,742 – NDC: 112,306
- East Bono: NPP: 292, 604 – NDC: 203,329
- Oti: NPP: 103,865 – NDC: 181,021
- Voltage: NPP: 100,481 – NDC: 606,508
- Ahafo: NPP: 145,584 – NDC: 116,485
- Central: NPP: 613,804 – NDC: 538,829
It has been reported that an estimated 17 million Ghanaians participated in the presidential and parliamentary elections on Monday.
Voting took place in more than 38,000 polling stations in 16 regions of Ghana.
