Nollywood actor James Ikechukwu Esomugha, popularly known as Jim Iyke, has spoken out about the news of his alleged conversion to Islam.
The report of the actor’s conversion went viral on Wednesday after a video of him praying surfaced online.
Some Muslim faithful had sent him well wishes on social media as they welcomed him to their fold.
Reacting to the video, Jim Iyke took to his Instagram page to maintain his stance of not changing his religion anytime soon.
The 45-year-old stated that the viral video was a clip from a movie he is currently working on in Ghana.
Jim Iyke said, “Let me quickly address the elephant in the room and go back to what I do best. I feel it necessary to address the rumour making the rounds lately.
”I made a movie in Ghana and it’s a movie about religious fanatic, someone took a picture from that movie and claimed I converted my faith.
”I respect all religions and I have no intention of ever converting my faith. I’m totally committed to my faith. I don’t understand why someone will do these but there is a certain line that you not be crossed.”
