Sunday Igboho finally wins a case against the Department of State Services, DSS, for illegally raiding his private apartment in Ibadan, Oyo State.
After weighing the options of the attack on the Yoruba Nation’s Agitator’s residence, juxtaposing angles and motives of the involved parties, a High Court in the State ordered that Igboho receives the sum of N20 billion in damages.
The Oyo State High Court directed that the Federal Government pay the activist (whose real name is Sunday Adeyemo) for abusing his fundamental Human Rights.
Passing the judgement, according to the report, Justice Ladiran Akintola of the High Court awarded the sum on Friday as compensation.
He pointed out that the compensation is meant for the invasion of Igboho’s house and for what was described as exemplary and aggravated damage done against the activist.
July 1: Earlier Attack on Igboho
It would be recalled that the Department of State Services attacked the Yoruba Nation’s Activist’s compound and almost destroyed it.
This act later prompted the agitator to seek the legal expertise of his lawyer, Yomi Alliyu, who had filed a lawsuit challenging the invasion of his house in Ibadan on July 1 by operatives of DSS.
