You work all week and you leave the office on Friday evening, dreaming of the infinite possibilities of rest and fun activities your weekend offers. But in what feels like two seconds you’re back at your desk on Monday morning worn out, wondering how the weekend went by so fast, what you accomplished and wishing you had done something more useful and fun. So how do you break that jinx and start having weekends that are fun and productive? Here are five proven ways:
Sleep:
Yes, sleep is one of the ways to relax and refresh your batteries for a productive week. You’ve probably been staying up late and waking up very early during the work week. Weekends are the time to do the reverse, sleep in as late as you can and go to bed as early as you can. Your body will thank you.
Do A Self Scan:
Some introspection is a good way to start your weekend. Ask yourself: What kind of energy do I need to acquire this weekend to make sure you feel energised and refreshed for the fortcoming week? Do you need more calming weekend activities because your week has been hectic? Do you need to do something invigorating because you’ve been so bored, it’s been difficult to focus on anything?
Make Time for Someone You Love
Weekends are a great way to connect and reconnect with our loved ones. Plan a special picnic with your partner, take your kids to the park or to see a movie, meet your old friends for drinks and laughs. Our human relationships will always serve us in a more rewarding way than our day jobs could ever hope to.
Make Time for Yourself:
Without the pressure of work and people, the weekend is perfect for creating some much needed me time. You can self-reflect, treat yourself to a massage, exercise or experiment in the kitchen. Do something that helps make you a better person. You want to start the new week feeling that you are stronger and more prepared to deal with the world than ever before
Leave Last Week in the Past:
There’s no reason to beat yourself up over one client meeting that went poorly within the week. You win some, you lose some. Keep doing your best, stay confident in your abilities, figure out where to make improvements and you’ll do even much better in the new week.
Your weekend is 48 hours, more or less, make it an unforgettable and fun experience!
