The West African Examination Council, WAEC has on Monday, November 2 released the 2020 WASSCE results.
According to the Council’s Head of National Office, Patrick Aregha, 1, 549,740) candidates registered for the examination.
He said the candidates are from 19, 129 recognised secondary schools in Nigeria.
Also, for the first time since the abduction of over 200 school-girls in Chibok Local Government Areas of Borno State, WAEC was conducted in the area.
It was gathered that 1, 338,348 candidates obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects with or without English Language or Mathematics.
Meanwhile, 1,003,668 candidates obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
However, the results of 215,149 candidates representing 13.98% of the total number of candidates that sat for the examination are being withheld.
The withheld results are in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.
How To Check 2020 WAEC Results
Candidates were asked to check their results through checker PIN on their smart identity cards.
The Result Checker PIN and Serial Number are contained on the candidate’s Smart Identity Card.
- Go to WAEC 2020 result checking portal at https://www.waecdirect.org.
- Enter your WAEC Examination Number in the required column.
- Select your Examination Year i.e. 2020.
- Select your Examination Type i.e. SCHOOL CANDIDATE RESULT.
- Enter the Card Serial Number.
- Enter the Card PIN.
- Finally, click “Submit” button to get your 2020 WAEC Result.
