Oyun Baptist High School located at of Kwara State is back in session as the State Government has ordered the reopening of the premises since the hijab controversy that earlier led to bloodshed.
Recall that the state government resolved to shut down academic activities in the school when things got out of hand over the wearing of hijab within the learning environment.
The action happened no fewer than three months ago as the right decision then was to stop an already escalated conflict that rose from a simple concept of living.
Hijab Controversy
As contained in a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Mary Adeosun, she hinted that the ministry “wishes to announce the reopening of Oyun Baptist High School, Ijagbo from Friday, June 3, 2022.”
She directed that all the school councilors, teachers, proprietors, pupils must resume academic activities, adding that the committee set up to address the remaining issues, are doing everything to ensure disturbance at public learning environments is contained.
