Amid speculations that he has ambition for the 2023 Presidency, the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, reportedly meets former President Olusegun Obasanjo at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
Bello”s spokesman, Mohammed Onogwu, noted that the closed-door meeting was held to discuss security issues.
Onogwu disclosed that the former President urged Governor Bello to sustain his efforts in securing the state, adding that Kogi state is key to the nation’s development.
According to Onogwu, Obasanjo commended the governor for his development effort in the state, particularly in youth and women’s inclusion in politics.

Obasanjo also advised the governor not to relent in improving infrastructure, health, education and advocating for youth involvement in governance.
Responding, Governor Bello reiterated his commitment to ensuring total safety for his people.
In the meantime, Governor Bello’s 2023 posters have been sighted in places like Yenagoa, Port Harcourt and Warri.
Earlier, A former Lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye, has levelled serious allegations against Governor Bello.
According to Dino, the anti-corruption Network discovered that one Abdusalami Hudu received a check payment of three billion, seven hundred and ninety million naira, following Governor Bello’s orders.
