Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has granted state pardon to Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, who are both non-custodial convicts for offences related to the disobedience of COVID-19 lockdown regulations.
The governor also approved the release of 56 inmates from various correctional Centres across the state.
Recall that Funke Akindele and husband, Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz, were taken to court after hosting a loud party for husband, JJC Skillz despite government warning against social gathering this period. This made her got 14-days community service by the Lagos magistrate court and the aforementioned punishment.
They have now been granted pardon by the governor who also released 56 inmates who were recommended by the Advisory Council after due examination of their case files and consideration of the length of time served, the gravity of offence, old age and ill-health among other parameters.
