The Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has cleared the air about the news making the round that he got a new appointment from the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
According to a tweet on his Twitter handle, Okowa said his attention was drawn to a story that has been circulating in the media for some days now.
He denied the news that the Vice President appointed him to lead a Sub-committee on COVID-19 Economic growth.
In the tweet, Okowa noted that the National Economic Council, NEC has always set up committees to deal with pressing National issues adding that it does not demand media attention.
The Governor posted photos of a statement signed by Jackson Ekwugum, the manager of communications in the Delta State Government house.
Governor Okowa Denies Getting New Appointment
You will recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had appointed Osinbajo to Chair the National Economic Committee to mitigate the negative impact of the Coronavirus on the Nigerian Economy.
Also, the Vice President has been working to oversee the Presidential Power Sector Reform Working Group with the mandate to significantly improve electricity output in the country.
