While clearing the air on allegations levelled against him, Comrade Muhammed told everyeveryng that he honoured the invitation sent to him by the anchor of the programme, Sogigun to encourage and support his programme.
“He called and sent a text to me last night requesting my appearance on his programme, I said no problem I will honour the invitation despite the fact that it was not convenient for me because I ought to resume to the office very early this morning
“But in fulfillment of my promise, when I got to the studios, I discovered that Sogigun invited Igbagbo, I did not complain about the presence of the guest from the opposition party because ordinarily, Sogigun ought to invite someone from the APC Secretariat and not me
“He asked me the first quetion as regards the third anniverssary of our governmnent, he asked if there were developments that were worth celebrating and I made reference to the University Teaching Hospital which is a new thing in Ondo state, it was governor Akeredolu that established it.
“I have only stated this and the issue of Dual carriage in local areas when the anchor of the programme, Sogigun asked me if I was once a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, I said, Yes and his other guest said something in yoruba that Gani Mohammed you are Aje nile oro je nile eegun, eyin abaluje ni yii, I drew the attention of the anchor man to what his other guest said and considered it an insult.
In the exlusive phone interview, Muhammed further stated that the question was like a plot and an ambuish between Sogigun and his PDP guest to malign him
“He asked me a question that was not relevant to the things we were discussing, I drew the attention of Sogigun to what the PDP member said and he was laughing about it, I told him I could not take the insult that I wanted to leave the studios.
“I stood up to take my leave and I left the studio, on my way out of the studios, some people were recording me but I took no offence becuase I did nothing wrong.
“As I was driving out of that radio station, I tuned my Car stereo to that station and after some minutes, the four callers that called into the programme condemened the manner at which the presenter asked sentimental questions.
Muhammed however added that the presenter had earlier approached him to lament about how the media team of the ruling government in the state refused to support him when he contested for the post of chairman in a state freelance broadcaster’s election.
“I am not sure if Sogigun did not invite me on that programme as way to get back to us for not supporting him on his personal ambition to become the president of the said association”
