Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has rated the state as the best corruption-fighting state in Nigeria noting that no state in the country can measure up to Kano in the fight against corruption.
Ganduje said Kano is the only state in the whole federation that has a fully functional and vibrant anti-corruption agency.
The governor, who was represented by Barrister Lawan Musa Abdullahi, Kano State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice made this known during the International Ombudsman Day celebration held at the Kano Anti-Corruption Institute (KANCI).
According to him, the establishment of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) and Kano Anti-Corruption Institute is a feat that remains unmatched by any other state.
It was gathered that the event was attended by representatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC and the National Human Right, NHRC.
However, representatives of the EFCC, ICPC and NHRC all commended the effort of the state commission in its fight against corruption.
