A moment that the Game Of Thrones fans have been waiting for. The show returned with the first episode of season 8 on the 14th of April. I was up until 2am just so I could watch it live and avoid spoilers. It was all worth it.
The show opens with the arrival of Jon, Daenerys and the troops. Arya looks at Jon and Gendry from among the crowd of the people of Winterfell. We see her show emotion about seeing them. Tyrion and Varys are seen in a carriage, with Tyrion making fun of Varys being a Eunoch.
Jon and Bran reunite. We sense a bit of tension between Sansa and Daenerys. Bran interrupts and lets them know that the wall has fallen.
At the Great Northern Assembly, Jon defends his reason for bending the knee to Daenerys. Says it is more important than the crown. Tyrion then announces that the Lannister troops will be joning them and everyone is outraged. Sansa talks with Tyrion about his sister, but he assures her that they are there to help.
Jon is praying to the old gods when Arya sneaks up behind him. They have a emotional reunion and he asks her to help Sansa and Daenerys get along.
Meanwhile in Kings landing, Cersei hears that the wall has fallen. Euron arrives with the Golden Company, but Cersei is not happy that there are no elephants. Theon rescues Yara and she allows him go North to help the Starks.
Jon and Daenerys take a ride on the dragons and they end up at a waterfall, where they make love. Arya and Gendry also reunite and we sense a bit of chemistry between them.
Daenerys and Jorah come to thank Samwell for healing him. She tells him that she has executed his father and brother for not bending the knee. Samwell is upset and asks for permission to leave, which she grants. He leaves with tears in his eyes and goes to Bran, who instructs him to let Jon know the truth.
Sam goes down to the crypts and tells Jon what hapened to his father and brother. He tells Jon that maybe Daenerys lets things get out of hand. He says that Daenerys should not be queen, Jon should be king, then goes ahead to tell him the truth about his birth.
The episode ends with Jaimie getting to winterfell and having the biggest shock/fear on his face when he sees Bran waiting for him.
