Talks about Funke Akindele, a popular Nigerian actress known in the entertainment industry as Jenifa, has been reportedly selected as the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governorship Candidate, Olajide Adediran (Jandor), Lagos, in the forth-coming election.
Several reports have revealed that she was earlier shortlisted for the position, while it has just been confirmed by the same sources that she has moved beyond nomination to become the actual Deputy Governorship Candidate to PDP in Lagos State.
However, Nigerians that learnt about Funke Akindele’s emergence as the running mate to Jandor, quickly took to Twitter to express varying views about the development.
Nigerians’ Reactions to Funke Akindele’s Candidacy
One tweet from @bukOOla showed that she did not support the nomination of Jenifa as the running mate to the present Governorship candidate.
She angrily stated that Lagos PDP cares less about its supporters, adding that there is no way they are winning the forthcoming election with the candidates they are fronting to go against other parties.
@Mr_kunlecole laughed at the idea of having her as the top second citizen of Lagos State as a disaster, stressing that the decision proves that the party is useless and filled with clowns.
On his part, @drunkito mocked PDP that they are surrounded by jokers hoping to unseat the rogue All Progressives Congress, APC, and the leading candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
