It would be recalled that Pastor Essay Oggory was at the centre of a shocking wedding day incident in Port Harcourt on 7th February 2021, when he obstinately refused to wed a couple because they arrived at the church just 5 minutes late.
On Tuesday, 16 February, he died at 55, reportedly exactly a year after his wife, Tonyemieba died.
A man, Success Ikenna Umezina, has thrown light on the issue, providing some explanations about what really happened to the pastor and how he died.
According to Umezina, the Pastor was already ill before the wedding and was treating himself in Abuja.
He said that the pastor suggested to the couple that another pastor officiate the wedding, but the groom refused, insisting that he wanted him to officiate.
On the wedding day, the pastor got to the church, but the couple arrived late. He tried calling, but nobody took his call.
After waiting for a while, he retired to his office perhaps because of his health and asked the couple to be joined in his office after they arrived at the church. The bride, who was overwhelmed by the situation, burst into uncontrollable tears, thus creating a scene.
The whole drama began when the bride burst into tears, apparently overwhelmed by the entire situation.
