The former governor of Ondo State, Evangelist Bamidele Isola Olumilua is dead.
He was the elected governor of Ondo State from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Nigerian third republic and was forced to leave office when General Sani Abacha took over with his military regime.
The Former governor died on Thursday morning in his hometown in Ikare Ekiti of Ekiti State, two months after his 80 years birthday.
The body of the former governor has now been moved to the morgue of Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.
He was governor under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and later joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 1998 to 2005. He was one of the founding fathers of the Action Congress (AC) Party in 2006.
