Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and human rights activist lawyer will be overseeing the murder case of Timothy Adegoke, a recent-past MBA student of the Obafemi Awolowo University.
For now, the only lead to unravelling the death of the MBA student is the arrest that was made on the owner of Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Mr Rahmon Adedoyin, picked up alongside six other suspects.
They have been taken to court for their alleged involvement in the postgraduate student’s death, as a statement issued yesterday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor, Ismail Omipidan, and signed by Oluwafemi Akande, the State’s Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, revealed that the State government wants Falana to handle the matters in court.
A letter was written in this regard from office of the Attorney-General to Falana, stating that on 1st April, 2022, Femi Falana, SAN, applied to the Office of the Hon. Attorney General for fiat to take over the prosecution of the case.
This was seconded by the family of TimothyAdegoke who also wrote a letter to the Attorney-General requesting for the Chambers of Falana, SAN, to be allowed to prosecute the matter.
