Some Nigerians have taken to different social media platforms to demand the immediate resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari amid the protests against extra-judicial killings in different parts of the country.
In a trend on Twitter, many of the app users on Friday accused the Presidency, President Buhari and the National Assembly of not paying the needed attention to the allegations levelled against some operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS.

Swaveboy_IDC said “The silence of NASS and presidency shows that they don’t care about us. Most of them obtained those positions through vote-buying, ballot stealing and election rigging. Our next protest is to call for the resignation of the president and NASS SPEAKERS.”
A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili said “If I were Buhari, I’d warn IG PoliceNG to tender his Letter of Resignation should even ONE of the #EndSarsNow #EndPoliceBrutalitynow #Protesters is killed anywhere in the country by his officers. Our Constitutional Democracy guarantees citizens to protest.
@Amaechiblue said “Hello Sir @MBuhari, you were quick in wishing @realDonaldTrump quick recovery. But your people are lamenting and you av gone mute, Ur children should be really ashamed of you …. We go come for you soon.”
Meanwhile, many other Twitter users noted that the purpose of the establishment of F-SARS is more than the output of some bad eggs among the F-SARS operatives.
According to them, the bad eggs can be expunged and the unit should be reformed for better operation if the government can’t scrap the squad.
