Former President, Goodluck Jonathan said he briefed an extra-ordinary session of the authority of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS on the outcome of the recent engagement with the military rulers in Mali.
In a tweet, Jonathan confirmed that the brief was held on Friday, August 28.
“I briefed an extraordinary session of the Authority of #ECOWAS Heads of State and Government this afternoon on the outcome of our recent engagements with the military rulers who are now in charge of affairs in the Republic of Mali.”
However, he expressed satisfaction that the meditation by African leaders in Mali’s affairs to achieve the restoration of the constitutional order is already bearing fruits.
According to him, the meditation which was buoyed by the determination of ECOWAS leaders to act decisively led to the release of ousted President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta.
