Nigerian celebrities, Genevieve Nnaji & Falz have joined other Nigerians to appreciate Feminist Coalition group which played an important role in the recent #ENDSARS protest to fight against Police brutality, extrajudicial killings and bad governance in the country.
Today, October 22, 2020, Feminist Coalition released a statement which discussed their activities during the #ENDSARS protest as well as condoling the families of those who lost their lives during the protest.
Feminist Coalition received over N147 Million over the past 14 days and disbursed over N60 Million to fund the protest via providing foods and drinks, medical bills, private security, and so on. They have also promised to spend the remaining N87 Million on the course.
In reaction to the statement, Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji wrote, ”God bless you for all your hard work ladies. But pls don’t stop. I’m tired of people dying because they can’t pay before service at hospitals. Bail money will be crucial now more than ever. I want to keep donating for it is clear our lives and well-being are in our own hands”
Reacting to the statement by Feminist Coalition, Falz wrote, “Thank you for everything. Everyone of you is a superhero”
Nigerians have also appreciated one of the faces of the group, FK Abudu, for her part both offline and online during the #ENDSARS protest which has been ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari to stop during his address to Nigerians, on October 21st, 2020.
