Edo State Deputy Speaker
The Edo State House of Assembly has impeached its Deputy Speaker, Yekini Idiaye, who is from Akoko-Edo constituency 1 during plenary today.
Yekini Idiaye was impeached in a plenary that was held in the state house of assembly complex in the state capital Benin few days after endorsing the state Governor, Godwin Obaseki for a second term in office.
The impeached Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly on Monday pulled his weight behind the re-election of Obaseki as the state Governor.
This is coming as the state prepares to conduct its governorship election on September 19 of this year and Godwin Obaseki is to face other contestants, with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC as one of his major opponents.
According to report, there was an immediate election for the replacement of the embattled lawmaker, Yekini idiaye.
Another Edo State lawmaker, Roland Asoro is the new replacement and now stands as the new Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
The Roland Asoro is a member representing Orhionmwon II Constituency, in Elo State.
