Davido reacts to Mayorkun’s nomination as Artiste of the year
DMW boss and popular Nigerian musician, Davido reacts to the nominations for the just announced Headies award nominees list where he fell in the same category with his label signee, Mayorkun.
The ‘Fem’ crooner was nominated in the category of the artiste of the year alongside other musical giants like Burna boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and his boy, Mayorkun.
Mayorkun’s nomination in this category came as a surprise to some fans who felt like he had not earned his seat at that table while others celebrated because in their opinion, Mayorkun had no bad songs to his name.
Upon discovery of this development, Davido went emotional saying that his boy has levelled up from what he used to be.
Recall that years ago, Davido discovered Mayorkun in a viral social media video that captured the Mayor of Lagos performing a cover of one of Davido’s hit songs and playing the keyboard. This shot Mayorkun from the world of banking to music quicker than he had fathomed and since that, it has been hit after hit for the musician.
Davido took to his twitter account to react with the tweet,
