In the wake of the viral video of a United state based Nigerian-born Doctor, Stella Emmanuel, who claimed that there is a cure for COVID-19, US President, Donald Trump has defended the doctor’s claim that hydroxychloroquine is a coronavirus cure.
Trump’s support is coming after his retweets were removed by Twitter which also resulted in his son’s account being suspended.
In the viral video, Dr Stella claimed that she has successfully treated over 300 COVID-19 patients in America by using hydroxychloroquine, zinc and Zithromax.
The US President noted that the doctor’s voice was important given her claim that she had tremendous success with hundreds of different patients.
While defending the doctor’s claim, Trump says hydroxychloroquine works for treating Coronavirus.
You will recall that in May, the World Health Organization, WHO stopped its hydroxychloroquine trial while the National Institutes for Health also halted their trial in June after determining it provided no benefit in the patients studied.
Meanwhile, Trump has come under heat for his handling of the coronavirus crisis and in recent weeks has tried to rectify his reputation by holding solo coronavirus briefings
