Following an announcement that three students tested positive for COVID-19, the Management of the Lagos State University, LASU has ordered the closure of all hostels in the institution.
The Coordinator, Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations, LASU, Mr. Ademola Adekoya announced the closure of the hostels.
According to Adekoya, roommates and associates of the three students, who tested positive for the virus have been isolated.
He said all students of the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) have been advised to proceed home to self-isolate for the next fourteen days.
COVID-19 Hits LASU
Adekoya said LASU management would continue to enforce compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.
Meanwhile, the hostel facilities have been closed immediately for decontamination and contact tracing.
In the meantime, the management of LASU has advised students who show COVID-19 symptoms at home to contact the college through dedicated lines for assistance and treatment.
