The Lagos State Government has warned about a possible second wave of Coronavirus pandemic in the state.
Akin Abayomi, the state’s health commissioner stressed the need for citizens to strictly adhere to COVID-19 precautionary measures.
He advised the citizens against unnecessary movement and social gatherings.
The commissioner also expressed concern that the use of face masks, social distancing and hand hygiene had reduced among citizens.
Abayomi said travelling into and outside the country should be discouraged, except if necessary.
According to him, the resurgence of COVID-19 infection could lead to another round of lockdown of the economy.
The health commissioner noted that many countries and cities were experiencing a second and third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
You will recall that the first case of COVID-19 in Nigeria was recorded in Lagos on Feb. 27.
