The Federal government of Nigeria has lifted its COVID-19 restrictions and cancelled midnight curfews across the nation.
The Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha made this known on Wednesday.
The Federal Government has since 2019, placed a ban on large gatherings and a midnight curfew till 4 am to curb the spread of the virus.
Last week, the FG also ordered the use of nose masks discretionary, as part of the measures to ease the restrictions placed on it’s citizens because of the coronavirus.
The statement by the COVID-19 steering committee read, “The removal of restrictions was decided given the declining number of cases, reduced risk of importation of new variants as well as the availability of vaccines.
“The nationwide curfew imposed from midnight to 04:00 am has been lifted, also, advisory limiting Nigerians to essential travels only has been lifted.”
