The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the first Coronavirus case in Yobe state.
The index case in the state was among the 196 new cases of Coronavirus in the country as disclosed late Wednesday by the Centre.
These cases bring the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria stands at 1,728 as of 11:55 p.m. on April 29, according to the NCDC.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed that the number of reported coronavirus cases in Africa has increased from 33,000 to over 34,000 in the past 24 hours. There have been 1,517 deaths while 11,180 people have recovered.
