The Federal Ministry of Power revealed on Friday that it is yet to take a decision on providing free electricity for Nigerians to cushion the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The ministry disclosed that it was oblivious of any such decision.
It was reacting to rumours that government decides to provide electricity for Nigerians free of charge for two months.
But in a clarification yesterday, the ministry on its official Twitter handle said:
“Please Note: NO DECISION has been taken by the Federal Government to provide Nigerians with FREE ELECTRICITY for 2 months. If and when that becomes a reality, it shall be announced officially.”
It added: “Be rest assured that FG is exploring ways to ameliorate any hardship on Nigerians.”
