Coronavirus Drug Trial
Coronavirus has not stopped ravaging the whole world, including Nigeria and the Federal Government, FG, has also taken another drastic step in combating the deadly virus.
According to the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, Lagos, Ogun, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kano States including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja have applied for a treatment regimen on solidarity drug trial with the World Health Organisation, WHO.
A member of the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus, Fiona Braka hinted that Remdesivir, Chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine, Lopinanir, and Ritonavir are the four drugs that would be tested on the victims during the treatment regimen solidarity drug trial.
Nigeria has been trying to nip the community spread of COVID-19 making the number of people to be tested increase by the day, but Enahire stressed that about 1,127 testing capacity had been added to the present testing capacity.
While Lagos State remains the nations Coronavirus epic centre, the spread of in states like Lagos, kano, Taraba and the FCT is becoming increasingly worrisome.
Nigeria now has over 4,000 confirmed cases of the virus.
