A pregnant woman who was Coronavirus patient has died at isolation center in Jigawa following a miscarriage.
The woman, who was from Zareka ward in Miga Local Government Area of the state, is the second person that died from Coronavirus in the state.
This was confirmed by the member of the State Task Force on Coronavirus who revealed that the woman was said to have bled to death on Sunday as a result of a miscarriage she had while being isolated at a facility in Duste, the state capital.
The patient was among the nine cases confirmed by the Commissioner of Health in Jigawa and Chairman of the State Task Force, Dr Abba Zakari.
It was narrated that she was returning from Lagos to Jigawa but tested positive for Coronavirus on her arrival in Kano State. She was later moved to the isolation centre in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital after her status discovered.
According to one of the members of the patient’s family who also confirmed her death said that they have received the body from the officials of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and has since buried her according to Islamic rites in the village.
Nigeria’s tally of confirmed cases of Coronavirus rose to 2558 on Sunday evening, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced.
There was a drop in the number of cases reported Sunday evening to 170 compared to 220 reported on Saturday evening.
The breakdown of the new cases indicated that Lagos leads with 39 cases, followed by Kano 29 and Ogun state with 24 cases.

“As at 12:00 pm 4 May – 2558 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 400 Deaths: 87 ,” NCDC wrote.
The 170 cases on Sunday brings the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 2,558 including 400 patients who have been discharged after recovery, and the 87 deaths.
