No gainsaying the point that Nigerian citizens are currently undergoing severe trials and tribulations at the hands of the financial powers that be.
Talking about the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and other commercial banks where Nigerians pay their hard-earned currency for safe-keeping, the last few weeks have been hell, with respect to people accessing money to cater for their daily needs.
The drama witnessed at various designated banks since the announcement of the deadline for payment and exchange of the old naira notes with CBN’s redesigned currency has been chaotic.
The new notes are scarce, and the apex bank is doing next to nothing to ensure full circulation of the money across the country, seeing that customers are unable to withdraw from the Automated Teller Machines, ATMs, as well as the banks themselves.
Following these developments, there have been unimaginable dramas in different financial institutions that include people going stark naked, and vandalising bank properties, among other atrocities.
