It is no longer news that Grammy-award-winning rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, aka Cardi B visited the African continent for the first time. She attended the LivespotX Festival that was scheduled for the 7th and 8th of December in Nigeria and Ghana respectively. The 27-year-old mother of one was very excited to have visited the African countries. She updated her 55.1 million followers on her Instagram page about her adventure.
When it was announced that Cardi B would be visiting Nigeria and Ghana, the Bronx New York rapper was very excited. She shared a caption in this regard on her social media page. Her African fans couldn’t wait either as the planned visit trended on social media pages. The ‘Bodak Yellow’ crooner soon jet off for the West African countries. During the flight, Cardi was seen grooving as she twerked to an unreleased remix of Davido’s ‘Fall’ which she is featured on. She smiled and changed positions in the video post that also had her crew grinning.
Cardi B arrived Nigeria on the 5th of December and got an awesome welcome from Nigerian celebrities including Davido. He posted it on his own Instagram page with 14.1 million followers the caption which reads ‘’welcome home’’ with the African flag and tagging Cardi B. the female rapper quickly compared Nigeria to the Dominican Republic where she hails from on arrival.

Cardi B Adopted a Nigerian Name
The Hip-hop star couldn’t just stop to enjoy the fun and vibes Nigerians are known for. She had to join the rhythm by adopting the Nigerian name ‘Chioma’ which means ‘good god’ in Igbo language, popularly spoken in the Southeastern part of the country. On her Instagram handle @Iamcardib, the rapper posted a video of herself with the caption ‘Chioma B’, a move that thrilled her Nigerian fans and got people talking. Cardi also got a name for her daughter, Kulture. She got the name ‘Ayomide’ which means ‘my joy comes’ in Yoruba language. She explained that her baby brings joy to her life.

Gave back to the society
The organizers of the event that brought Cardi B to Africa has spent millions of dollars to get her here. She made a good move by shopping for groceries at an upscale supermarket in the city and donated the items to an orphanage. Along with Hip-hop executive, Brooklyn Johnny and some other members of the crew. Cardi B was very excited to give back to the society by donating items as much as their cars could contain.
Visited a strip club
In her brief stay here in Nigeria, Cardi B also visited a strip club in the Nigerian mega city alongside Nigerian-American rapper Jidenna. The mother of one started as a stripper and was thrilled as she saw others performed. The Eko Atlantic Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos was in great mood as Cardi B performed in the first leg of the Livespot festival on the 7th of December. She was seen in a green and white wear (Nigerian national color) and costume including her hair. The rapper performed many of her hit songs including ‘Bodak Yellow’, ‘Get up 10’, and ‘Lick’.
