President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, have taken their first jabs of COVID-19 vaccines a day after the frontline medical personnel were vaccinated.
Buhari described his vaccination as a demonstration of leadership and faith in the safety and efficacy of the COVID-vaccines.
According to President Buhari, the vaccine offers hope for a safe country, free of Coronavirus.
However, he urged all eligible Nigerians to present themselves for the COVID-19 vaccination following the order of priority already mapped out at the various authorized designated centres.
The President also urged all state governments, traditional and religious leaders, to lead the mobilization effort within their environment and spheres of influence.
Buhari Speaks On COVID-19 Vaccination
He noted that the timely development of the COVID-19 vaccines is quite significant.
Buhari added that the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 assured him that the AstraZeneca vaccine would arrive in batches.
He opined that the rollout and administration plan would cater to over seventy per cent of our population between the year 2021 and 2022.
The Vice President, Osinbajo, confirmed that he had received the COVID 19 vaccine.
