One would think that the President of a country should address issues as they unfold, especially when they are of a significant magnitude. However, a prominent member of President Buhari‘s cabinet does not think he should speak on every matter.
Adesina says Buhari must not speak to the always
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, said that President Buhari does not need to speak to address the people on every issue every time.
Adesina made this remark when he spoke about the Presidents stance on the issue of killer herdsmen. He stressed that the conclusion is that anyone who is caught with illegal arms would be arrested and tried.

Adesina’s comments have been linked to statements made by the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.
Ortom had lamented the Presidents silence over the issue of armed herdsmen causing damage all over the country. Adesina challenged Ortom to state if he had not heard the President speak on the matter, rather than say the President has not spoken.
Adesina categorically stated that the President does not need to speak on every issue.
His statements are potentially divisive for the generality of the populace because a lot of Nigerians have previously lamented the usual, prolonged silence by the President over issues that are considered of national interest. An excellent example is during the #EndSARS protests in 2020.
