The Senate after their seating mandated the leadership of the National Assembly to urgently meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and the security chiefs regarding the incessant killings and attacks happening in the North-East by the Boko Haram.
This resolution was moved by Senator Abubakar Kyari representing Borno North on the recent killing of more than 90 persons in his constituency. The senate urged the Presidency to send more troops to the borders linking the area and Lake Chad.

Still in light of the attacks, there was a call from the senate for the restructuring of the nations’s security architechture to enhance efficiency.
The President of the Senate assured. his colleagues and the public of his commitment to get the presidency to take appropriate action regarding the killings by Boko Haram.
