The #BoycottEriscoFoods trend floods X/Twitter following the arrest of Chioma Egodi, a Nigerian woman who gave an honest review of how bad a particular product from the company tasted.
It was gathered from credible media sources that a solidarity trek would be observed or is even currently ongoing as several videos have popped up online to show women speaking against Mr Eric Umeofia, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Erisco Foods.
The solidarity group marching for Chioma’s sake has accused Erisco’s CEO of bullying instead of attempting to find a solution and fix the inferiority detected in the product.
On X, the microblogging platform, hashtags are trending because of this controversial case. The likes of #FreeChiomaOkoli, #IStandWithChiomaOkoli and #BoycottEriscoFoods.
The negative campaign against Erisco Foods is spreading like wildfire as different tweeps are tweeting unceasingly for Nigerians far and wide to intervene in the matter and ensure they all stop patronising the company.
The company has replied to some of the negative comments, even attempting to offer an affordable rate and bonanza to the Muslims presently observing their Ramadan fast.
