There have been various reactions to Bolanle Raheem’s death, a Lagos State pregnant Lawyer that met her sudden death in the hands of a trigger-happy policeman.
The likes of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, have weighed in on the tragedy.
Speaking on the matter, Sanwo-Olu declared that justice would be served speedily, insisting that Bolanle’s tragic death would have been averted as it was uncalled for in a time like this.
Recall the active Lawyer was fired at and killed in her car, in front of her family by men of the law from Ajiwe Police station, on Christmas Day, after an unfriendly conversation sparked off among the involved parties.
The Governor revealed that “The Lagos State police command has arrested, disarmed and detained the officer(s) involved in the incident.”
Meanwhile, IGP Usman Alkali, has given a marching-order to men of the police force to swiftly embark on an investigative runs to bring the culprits to book for the crime they committed.
Similarly, NBA, Civil Rights Organisations, CSOs and other social media influencers, have reacted to the killing of Bolanle, describing it as another stretch of the #EndSARS brutality to the Nigerian citizens.
