Controversial Nigerian influencer Bobrisky has spoken out in defense of popular content creator Egungun of Lagos, after a private n¥de video involving him was leaked online. The video, which shows Egungun engaging in an explicit video call with an unidentified woman, has sparked widespread outrage on social media.
Egungun, whose real name is Kuye Adegoke, has been at the centre of a scandal after the intimate video was released without his consent. The video, which was reportedly recorded during a private conversation, shows Egungun exposing his male member. His wife, who initially addressed the issue on social media, claimed that the video was meant to be a private exchange between the two of them, and added that her husband has “never” cheated on her. Despite her attempts to stop the blackmailer, the video was eventually leaked, leaving Egungun and his family in the midst of a public controversy.
In a scathing Instagram post, Bobrisky criticised the woman who filmed the private video call, accusing her of being responsible for both the recording and its subsequent leak. Known for his no-holds-barred approach to social media, the crossdresser also expressed frustration over a prevalent habit in Nigeria: the recording and leaking of private conversations. He made it clear that he was no longer interested in being associated with people in the country due to this behaviour.
“I’m cutting off everyone in that country called Nigeria,” Bobrisky said in his post. “You people need to stop this habit of recording people’s private calls and leaking them. It’s disgusting.”
Bobrisky, who has previously been involved in his own controversies—most recently with Nigerian authorities over leaked voice notes allegedly revealing private conversations—went on to question the motives behind the video leak. He pointed out that the leak seemed to be aimed at destabilizing Egungun’s marriage.
“Only a f**l will leave his (sic) man for that nonsense,” Bobrisky wrote, adding that the video was a deliberate attempt to harm Egungun’s relationship.
In an effort to reassure Egungun’s wife, Bobrisky advised her to show even more support to her husband during this difficult time. “Dis is time you should love him more,” Bobrisky encouraged her, showing solidarity with the embattled couple.
As the scandal continues to unfold, the public remains divided over the ethics of the video leak. While some have condemned the breach of privacy, others have criticized Egungun’s behavior during the video call. Nevertheless, the incident has once again highlighted the dangers of online privacy invasion, sparking debates about consent, trust, and the limits of digital communication.
For now, Egungun has not publicly commented further on the matter, while his wife continues to defend him against the accusations. Bobrisky, however, remains vocal, urging Nigerians to take accountability for their actions in the digital age.
