The former BBNaija reality star, Mercy Eke, recently opened up about her decision to undergo body enhancement surgery. In a candid interview, she shared details about the procedure, her motivations, and the recovery process.
“At first, it was the trend at a time,” Mercy admitted. “I did my body in 2018, and it was just the trend back then. Maybe peer pressure, like, because I actually have a very good form. My body was not that bad. It was slim. But maybe as an African woman, the stomach was a little bit too much.”
The reality star confessed to being scared about the procedure and not informing her mother about her decision. She explained, “I didn’t want anybody to discourage me, so it was just me and two of my other friends. We planned it and did it together.”
Mercy Eke described the recovery process as painful, especially the initial three days. “You get to have your body massaged, which is the painful part, and then the fact that you wouldn’t sleep with your stomach for 14 days,” she shared. “When the nurses are trying to massage you to bring out the water, everything is so interesting.”
Despite the challenges, Mercy believes the surgery was worth it. She emphasized that it’s a temporary procedure that dissolves over time. “People need to be more educated about this,” she said. “It’s not something like liposuction. It’s just removal of fat from unwanted places.”
The reality star also addressed misconceptions about the surgery, clarifying that it’s not the same as using silicone implants. “It feels so natural,” she explained. “It’s like water. It’s basically liquid.”
Mercy Eke revealed that she plans to undergo another procedure after having children to maintain her desired physique. She believes that body enhancement surgery can be a valuable tool for women who want to feel confident and empowered.
