Nengi begins Campaign
BBNaija 2020 ex- housemate, Nengi Hampson has begun a high-level campaign in Twitter. The ex- beauty queen and Senior Special Assistance to Bayelsa State governor, Douye Diri, is currently talking loud in a campaign for women.
In a way to mark this year’s edition the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Nengi talked against gender-based violence.
“Today is the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and marks the beginning of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Gender-based violence can be in different forms, from mental to physical which has long-lasting negative”
For her campaign, she stressed that failure to protect women is a danger t the future generations.
The BBNaija star also called on government to wake-up to the responsibility of of protecting women in our society.
“according to world bank over a third of women (35%) have experienced sexual and or physical violence , and gender based violence impacts 1 in 3 women”
She had after the BBNaija season 5 show, talked about how she was violated by her former boyfriend. Nengi narrated how he always beats her until she bleeds through her nose.
