Sadly, bandits in Shiroro Local Council of Niger State has taken the lives of four officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, when they invaded the Galkogo community yesterday.
Confirming the incident, Mr Monday Kuryas, the State Commissioner of Police, revealed that the ugly event happened suddenly and the men were taken by surprise.
The Commissioner further disclosed that six other persons were affected in the attack by gunmen, stating that they were killed without remorse.
Bandits Burn Community down
The attack was in the form of an invasion as the killers reportedly stormed the community on motorcycles, and resolved to burn down eight houses, including a building under renovation belonging to the Joint Security Task Force in the state.
In the meantime, CP Kuryas mentioned that the state police command has deployed a tactical squad as well as some special military team to scout the area and fish out the assailants.
Kuryas appealed to the public to help the security personnel in the search for the bandits, urging that with reliable information, the uniform men could successfully apprehend the criminals.
